"full sticker,"

Hehehe. "Now" doesn't even begin to describe my Camry purchase -- I'm within a couple of weeks of "owning" (yeah, right!) the car for a year, "bought" (another ill-fitting word!) on March 17, 2006. St. Patrick's day, for what it's worth.I bought the third 2007 Camry my local dealer sold, and they could have easily sold it to any one of the dozens of folks who were wandering around while we were making the deal. Bottom line, they weren't budging below sticker, which was right around your Edmunds price. I think they've raised the price a wee bit over the past year, as mine included destination for that price, if I'm remembering correctly. I usually wouldn't have caved for "full sticker," but the fact that it was one of the few cars they had (maybe half a dozen at that point), it was EXACTLY what I wanted (I4 XLE, "Blue Ribbon" color, leather, no nav, etc.), and, the kicker -- that "made in Japan" sticker in the window -- all fell into place, damn the cost. My impression remains that you generally see far more Japan-built cars during the initial rollout of a new generation, as they help "prime the pump" with them to meet the initial demand of a new model, so I was definitely "hunting for one." Ironically, we just jumped in the one I4 XLE they had and took it for a test drive -- it wasn't until we got back, got out, and I started chatting with the sales guy that I noticed the "made in Japan" sticker. At any rate, now that my dealer has dozens of them sitting on the lot at any time, and a few Hybrids on the lot, too, I'd expect that they're cutting deals as they normally would. Hang on a minute.... Holy Crimony! I just checked my dealer's inventory, and they have, on the nose, ONE HUNDRED 2007 Camrys in their "new" inventory!! Yeah, I bet they're a bit more motivated to cut some deals and move those things than they were when I went looking at the first few they got their hands on!!And, I may be really misguided regarding how rare it might be to find a Japan-built car on the lot -- I clicked around in that inventory list, and found quite a few Japan cars. Of course, here in Oregon, where we've got a huge Toyota port facility up in Portland, we might have a few more Japan-built cars than dealers in other states might.... Anyway, that's a TON of cars for my little dealer -- my guess before I looked was that they might have had about 20 or 30 on hand. So, I'd recommend the usual strategies to get decent deals -- with that many cars to move, for my dealer as an example, you'd think they'd be dealing pretty freely to keep those things moving! In the end, of course, I'm no real help in regards to your question, but it sure seems that you'd be able to cut a pretty good deal if you worked a bit at it!
