An occasional problem on the 2.5L engine
Permalink

Man!!! Awesome discussion guys since I left yesterday afternoon. Thanks all!

Just some useless knowlege but I was in the car business for a short period out of college.. In a year at one dealer, I sold new Isuzu, Saab, Audi, VW, Buick, Mitsubishi, Lotus, Porsche. You reckon they had their lineup a bit stretched between just two dealer lots? I didn't get to take out the Lotus S4's to lunch very often, though. hehehe.. but man I tried. That was the last year of the good looking 911's too before they totally screwed up the styling.. The last of the air-cooled porsches. nice. Anyway.....

To answer your subie reliability question: I found this statement about the 03's on MSN.

"An occasional problem on the 2.5L engine is failure of the cylinder head gaskets. Cylinder Head Gasket failure can cause an engine coolant leak and may also cause the engine to overheat. The cost to replace the Cylinder Head Gaskets is estimated at $75.00 for Parts and $520.00 for labor. All prices are estimates based on $65.00 per flat rate hour and do not include diagnostic time or any applicable sales tax."
