more for a "quality" product

Don't waste your time arguing with "accordlover". He's a child with no car of his own (he's always got a story about "his" Accord, only to later say mommy is driving it now... blah blah blah. There's just something about a kid who drives a car worth maybe a grand telling someone who has plunked down over $40K in Hondas what to accept. Ignore him.

Also he passes off old cars in his family as his own in his sig. (maybe I should put all the cars my brothers, sisters, parents, parents-in-law, grandparents own in my sig too!). He seems to live vicariously through family members experiences. Psy, don't let a kid try to put you, a grownup, in your place for expecting quality.

Oh, and Benji, I agree... rattles are NOT NOT NOT normal...otherwise Honda would list them as standard equipment! wink.gif

When "adults" who have responsibilities (ie. jobs, family, mortgage) make a big purchase and don't feel they got their moneys worth (whatever that means to them), they have a right to be disappointed. This is especially true with something like a Honda or Toyota. They have earned/ placed themselves on a higher plane and charge more money for their wares accordingly. In my world, if I pay more for a "quality" product (home, auto, furniture, lawnmower, toaster, whatever) I expect to have my expectations exceeded. You know, gettin' your moneys worth. It sounds like Psy has not had that happen to him.

While Psy's experiences are anecdotal, they are his experiences. While I have not had any of the things he talks about, I will admit my previous Honds were less than perfect to be sure. They looked/felt great and were fun cars to drive, but I always felt a bit cheated when all I heard was how perfect Hondas were, only to have my cars towed, ignitors fail, water pumps seize, mufflers replaced almost yearly, and CV axles turn to dust like clockwork because of cheap rubber boots that failed religiously at 60K. Also, the cloth interior seams split/sun rotted and alot of other annoyances. These experiences kept me from buying another Honda for over 12 years. But then a few years back, the Accord lured me back into the Honda fold with it's overall competence and great driving feel. But mark my words, if this car begins to age quickly despite being babied, it's gone. Luckily I can afford to absorb such an occurance much easier these days. But, so far so good! paranoid.gif

My only question Psy... why would you consider another Honda if you are so disappointed in your current vehicles? There must be something that draws you to them... sorta like a seductress? naughty.gif

As an aside, my brother had a 1996 Ranger XLT SuperCab V6 with the sport suspension for 5 years. While not the most refined truck in the world, it never left him stranded and never needed more than reg. maint. It was a good truck. The seats sucked and it made more engine noise than horsepower, but it towed and carried lots of crap. Just not a rewarding vehicle to drive... the opposite of a Honda. smile.gif
