i am not familiar with the earlier accords, altho i do know that they did have the 3 indicators, unlike the later ones with the single one....
the only thing that i can thing of is this: it have have broken just due to old age. hondas are not perfect; things on my car do not work either, mostly the bulbs behind some dash buttons, and the light that illuminates the gear selector (works when it wants too).
i feel ur pain with the indicator; i used to reset it as soon as i noticed it going to yellow.... but, due to the miles that i still rack up (albeit not as much now), i left it alone, and got used to it.
