I'm willing to bet you could get a new EX 5spd for 19K easily. 17K is just ridiculous...you can get a brand new VP for that price and you'd be missing what a sunroof, a couple of disc brakes, alloys, 6 disc CD changer? But you'd get a brand new car!
There is retaining value, then there is just plain dumb. I would call the above case just plain dumb. Although when I sold my Accord and it only depreciated $700 in 3 1/2 years and 37K miles, it didn't seem like such a bad thing
