2005 Accord lights DIMMING
Permalink

Have a 2005 Accord. When the A/C or Defrost is turned on.. the compressor kicks in... problem is when it does this... my headlights DIM for a split second about 50%. AND.... it does it every 45 seconds... whether the car is warm or cold. Had the dealer replace the relay switch... but it still kicks on every 45 seconds.... stays on for about 15 seconds... shuts off... 45 seconds later... DIM goes the headlights. Very very frustrating. Have another friend who has same year and his does the same thing. Dealer said it was a trait that goes with this generation of Honda. Im very dissapointed that a car of this quality and popularity has this problem. Now to some it might not be a bother... but for me its like im waiting for it too happen every time i turn on the headlights and drive at night. Did i mention EVERY FRIGGEN 45 SECONDS... and it looks like when your car hits a pothole and does a nosedive... you loose about 50% of light for a split second.

Now... seeing as how dealer wont fix it... can this be fixed by either installing a larger battery or a larger alternator? Im not mechanically inclided.. so i dont know if these will work... or are a wast of money. Any help would be apprechiated.

Does your 7th gereration car do this?????????????
