I love these type of arguments on here. It makes me laugh uncontrollably at the amount of effort people expend trying to convince themselves their car is superior to someone elses. Kinda pathetic.
I have watched on here almost every owner of a 2006-2007 over the years sing the praises of their "superior" taillamps and denegrate those of us poor souls who have the conventional bulbs from 2003-2005. Try as they might, I have never felt any jealousy over LEDs. I can't believe how much people care about what other drivers see of their lights (front or rear). I mean, who cares? When I am in the driver's seat, I never see my taillights... and really don't care what they look like to other drivers (or what they somehow say about me ).
I also find it fascinating how 2008 owners by and large dismiss LEDs and find so many positive aspects to their conventional bulbs... when we all know that whenever they seem to find something that is clearly better on their Gen8, they make sure all us Gen7 owners know how inferior our cars have become. Anything to justify their purchase I suppose.
This is clear though: Honda dropped 'em for cost reasons... period. They are an advancement, but have obviously not become a "gotta have" item to consumers... so they continue to be used mostly for aesthetic reasons.
My 2003 lights are perfect! Conventional red bulbs for running and brake lamps (low cost replacement!), amber lenses for better visual turn intent to other drivers, AND I have a spoiler with a nice row of LEDs that instantaneously come on anytime I hit the brake! The best of ALL worlds.
