04 Accord EX with the 2.4L four cylinder and a five speed
Permalink

I base this reply on my first Honda, an 04 Accord EX with the 2.4L four cylinder and a five speed standard. Mine is a "J Spec" built in Japan as opposed to Ohio.

Having read about some auto transmission problems, and by choice anyway, I chose the stick shift. This is the finest car I have ever owned and there have been many since my first car purchase in 1970 or so. I am a stick shift person so if the auto trans had received rave reviews I would still have opted for the clutch.

Problems? Well, let's see........front rotors warped and needed to be turned which was likely my fault (panic stop 3RD day of ownership) but not uncommon. A very minor air bag recall (sounds serious but wasn't) and that's it.

Quiet and comfortable interior, firm controlled ride, quick steering with good feedback, brakes easy to modulate, reasonably good sound system ( for stock ), what else can I say? Also you are looking at a much nicer model than mine so you should be well pleased.

The V-6 Camry is one hell of a car but it doesn't have the handling "sharpness" that the Honda has. To me that is a plus for Honda, to you....well you must decide that. The Honda V-6 walks away from most V-8's much less the Toyota V-6.

I think that the car will please you but drive others as well then decide.

By the way, mileage is approaching 10K and not one rattle to date.
