Second, what are you referring to as the same engine? The Si's engine? Same as what? I can assure you it's not the same as the K20Z1 in the RSX-S, nor is it the same as the K20A2. There are similarities yes, but the same no. I just finished a build of a K20Z3 for another project. I know these K-series engines like the back of my hand.
To my understanding the engine in the upcoming TSX is an evolution of the engine in the current model, with the additon of the balance shafts, direct ignition system, and slightly higher compression ratio, in addition to some breathing and ECU modifications. As was mentioned, I think it's a hold over until the Diesel and A-VTEC engines arrive.
