Unlike Honda, Acura is suffering from some brand identity issues where some question whether or not it is in the same league as Lexus and Infiniti (re: no RWD V8 offerings).
As far as the TL goes, it has pretty much held record sales for the Acura brand until very recently. Debuts of new and much improved cars (over their predecessors) like the G35 and ES350 likely had some play with the TL's sales decline.
Back on topic, I definitely see about as many 08 Accords on the roads of central NJ as I do 06-07 models. I am still partial to the TL's styling and would lean towards procuring a discounted TL Type S over the 08 AV6 sedan. NOTE: I felt the same way re: 03 TL-S vs 03 AV6 so, do not take my last statement as a knock against the 8G Accord.
