Respectfully, I must ask you the same question. My last NEW GM was a 99. Relative has a '05 Buick.. okay.. quality issues.. terrible rattles, and I just dropped my neighbor off yesterday to pick up his '07 Lucerne that has had a "engine speed performance computer" plugs, wires, alternator.. all under warranty.. but I swear this car sits at the service department more than his driveway. He is trying to get a lemon law on it because he is so unsatisfied. My girlfriend has an '06 Cobalt. Headlight lenses leak, has caused a problem with the one bulb twice. Driver seat track failed, causing her not to be able to lock her seat.. she weighs about 100lbs. Nothing huge.. but this should not be happening on a new car. I hope GM has done alot in R & D and that quality is improving.. I would hate to see them continue to be bankrupt. I believe very much in american cars, tried to drive them for a long time.. but was very disapointed. I meant no disrespect to you.. bad luck with GM must just surround me. I own 4 hondas and take alot of pride in them, do the work myself. I just rebuilt the motor on my '90 Prelude (rings/ valve job).. took me 2 months to finish.. but It has 272k miles on it and runs like my accord. Body needs a little help.. but that will keep me busy. I would love not to worry about a timing belt and drive a GM.. but they have not proven quality improvements to me. That is just my opinion.. and I respect yours. Best of luck to you, hope either way you end up with reliable transportation.
