Well, I cancelled my XM subscription quite a while ago -- if you recall my story, that would be back when I traded my rattletrap 2004 EX-L coupe in on a 2007 Camry XLE. The top Camry radio system is "satellite ready," and you can either pay huge bucks for the OEM system, or now Terk has come out with an "XM Direct" system for Toyota radios. I didn't buy the OEM system when I bought the car -- I didn't want the dealer axe butchers to touch my interior. But, I finally bit on the Terk system, and had my favorite car stereo installer install it the other day.
I just stated that I had cancelled my service in the past, and I had received a flyer with the $77 per year / activation fee waived deal, and asked if I could still take advantage of that. Calling the number mentioned in the first post here, of course. And right off the bat, it was "Yes, we can give you that deal." So, we just worked through the details, and when it came to "can I get your credit card number," I just requested an invoice, and the rep said we could indeed do that.
Shortly after that point, the rep put me on hold, but came back and completed the deal. She seemed to be a little at odds with the invoice bit -- I think she may have needed to get more details about what to do on her end about that. But, everything went very smoothly, and so long as that invoice comes in for only $77, it'll be just about perfect!
So, there was nothing about "oh, that radio number doesn't qualify" or any problems like that -- and this (of course) wasn't anything resembling an OEM Honda system radio, of course. So, it truly couldn't have gone better.
