Just joined the forum. This is now my fourth Accord (1981, 1986, 1991, 1998) and fifth Honda I've owned.
Bought my 98 Accord LX a few days ago. Didn't think the LX had the factory Honda CD unit with 6 speakers (2 component on dash, 2 in front doors and 2 in rear deck lid).
But it seems to be installed, but with the BASS turned all the way to maximum, it is lacking and real bass. I'm not talking Subwoofer levels, but just enough bass to listen to Rock. Sounds okay for talk radio - but something appears to be missing.
Any simple things I can check by myself? I have ensured the Balance is set dead center and Fade is even from front to back. Could the Honda amp be bypassed somehow?
