I guess I just have bad luck when buying a new honda. I traded in my 04 because it had been in the shop for all the usual known issues, including: replace engine mounts for vibration issues, replace power seat base do to excessive looseness, etc.. I had the car in the shop 7 times in 2 years for electrical and mechanical issues, and that doesn't include all the rattles, I gave up on that. My wife has an 04 as well that has been pretty darn good, no shop visits and pretty much rattle free.
I got an 06 I4 AT EXL with navi two weeks ago and it's all starting to happen again. I really like the way the Accord rides, the technology it has, the awesome I4 engine, etc. I figured the issues of my 04 could not happen twice, what were the chances of that?
So far I have been getting a nasty grinding sound from the moonroof when closing it, unfortunately for me it happens intermittently so when I took it in yesterday to be looked at, it would not make a peep. The dealer surely wanted to fix it but if they can't hear anything how can they? I was offered a loaner car and leave it with them for who knows how long to repeat the problem, I held off on that till it gets worse.
I have had my trip computer on the navi reset itself at least three times from either turning the car off of starting it up, not sure which. My 04 never had this happen. Anyone see this problem?
Rattles have appeared in the driver side door, about where the seam between the leather and the top of the door softtouch panel plastic is. It sounds like two pieces of plastic rubbing against each other.
The center console door I think is the culprit of another rattle, as it seems to rub on one side and is lessened when I leave it open.
It looks like I may end up having to keep this car for another 2 years to get enough payments made to reduce my loses to an acceptable level. There was a member who got rid of his rattles by trading in his accord for camry, I sure think maybe that would have been what I should have done.
anyway enough of my rant... needed to vent after having my joy turn to anger and frustration in having to deal with these issues again on a new car....
