I am 23 years old and I I live in brooklyn ny. I am the Internet Sales Manager at my cousins Nissan dealership in queens, ny. I went from having an automatic 2005 maxima with every bolt on mod you can think of, to an 06 g35 coupe 6mt fully loaded (12 month lease). When my 12 month lease was up, last april I picked up a 2007 Infiniti g35S sedan 6mt, every option possible on the car. 306hp, black on black, dual fujita intakes, 20 inch staggered rims. Car was a dream.
5 months later im realizing that I make very good money especially for my age, and its time to stop dumping so much money into a car and start looking into saving up and buying a house. After payment, insurance, and the money I spent on the garage to park it because I wouldnt park on the street, I was in for about $1000 a month. Add gas to that...I was getting 13.6 MPG, and its not pretty.
I called for my buyout and it was $33,733. I managed to get $32,000 for a trade in. Getting out of a lease after only 5 months and only incuring $1,733 negitive equity is un heard of, so I did it. The nicest car in my preowned inventory was a 2005 HondaAccord EX-L, 4 cyl automatic with only 9,000 miles on it. A sick drastic change from what I was used to but it had to be done. Put absolute zero out of my pocket and financed the car, and saved myself around 500 bucks a month in total without calculating gas.
I must say the first day I was a little sick, because I really loved my car. But now after the 3rd day I can safely say I like my lil Accord. Its a great car, rides excellent, looks good, and def pays off at the pump. I know my car may not be "forum worthy" but I just wanted to drop in and see what everyone is doing, I'm always up for a little mod.
