Hi there! I get to join the 7th gen club now as I bought a white 2005 EX-V6 sedan (24,000 miles) last week. I also have a black currant (AKA purple) '99 EX-V6 coupe (Ha, my husband's now!). And before that, I had a dark green '95 EX-V6 sedan w/ gold emblems that sadly was stolen and totaled - by my insurance-excluded, unlicensed older brother, no less.
Anyway, I didn't come to buy my newest Accord on a straight path...Originally I was thinking I really wanted to branch out and get something fun like a G35. And then eventually I was thinking TL. So I drove those and an '05 Maxima (I don't get all the hype about them now) and an '06 Altima (just felt cheap inside) and even a Murano (really didn't want an SUV). And then I ended up driving an '05 Accord Hybrid, just to see what a hybrid was like. And while I didn't really like the way it drove (steering was really loose, among other things), I LOVED being inside it. The 7th gen Accords have such a great interior. I just felt like I was in an Accord, if that makes any sense. But I talked to a Honda sales dude (funnily enough, when I was driving the Altima) and he told me to steer clear of the hybrids ("Honda's not even making them anymore!!!!!!") and to try a regular Accord, they drive much better - and he was right! Anyway, in the end, there's no way I could have afforded a G35 or TL in the long run - higher maintenance/repair costs& premium gas? No thanks. So basically I ended up right where I started from, in the best I could afford - an Accord.
Just a couple crappy dark & rainy pics for now. Anyway, I'm going to be getting it tinted next week hopefully, it's too hot otherwise (Florida). I've heard several different numbers for what passes for legal here, but I am going to do the darkest legal which is either 20, 25, 28, or 35%...But what color? I've heard people say that black tint doesn't look good on white cars. And I've heard some people mention charcoal...any ideas on what looks best with white?
I've ordered premium floor mats, and I want to get my iPod hooked up sometime. May get a spoiler one day. Oh, and it still has the stock Michelin's that I'm not a fan of but they're still in pretty good shape, so I'm not going to change those out quite yet. One thing at a time!
And one last question - think it's a good idea to get an extended warranty? I didn't have one on my '99 and I would never have used it. I hate the idea of wasting $1000 on a warranty I probably won't use, ya know? But that's the problem with them, isn't it? Ok, thanks!
