Honda Accord 02' Stock Amp + Kicker?
(Preview)
Hey. I've never installed car speakers before and I'm having a hard time finding out the maximum amount of Watts that a stock 02' Accord amp could handle. I was thinking about buying a sub like the Kicker Solo-Baric 12" and I was hoping to be able to use the amp thats already in the car to save money. I...

XM / Sirius Agreed to Merge...
(Preview)
Like others I have considered getting Sirius for my car instead of XM....but looks like in the future they may be the same company. They announced today that they have agreed on a merger. So maybe there will be a way to listen to sirius on an oem honda xm radio in the near future?

i know sattelite radio makes a thing where you take over a certain station which for me is 88.7 and you can play an mp3 player through with the 3.5 mm jack they provide. and i remember seeing one from pep boys where as long as you dont have the 6cd changer unit, u could use that one. Mp3 player with these adapters,
(Preview)
All available aftermarket adapters should work for basic non-ipod mp3 players. Even the ones made for ipods usually have rca jacks in them. To get a headphone (3.5mm) jack to plug into your mp3 player with these adapters, youll have to get a patch cable for it too. It looks like this and will plug into yo...

External CD changer
(Preview)
for my non-NAV, i got a AUX unit on ebay for about 80$, it plugs in the external CD changer port on the factory head unit. that's it, all you have to do is to physically fit the unit and run the wire. I fit ther unit someplace on the passenger side of the AT shifter...a little futher back than the shifter. I run...

2003 Accord - MP3 jack
(Preview)
Just bought a 2003 Accord with Nav and had a few questions.. Does the "CD/AUX" button mean that there is an option to install another device and still keep the CD? I have an mp3 player, not an Ipod and want to run it directly to the radio. Most of the threads that I have seen only speak about Ipods...

MP3 Connection for '07 Accord: Concerned About Shorting Radio
(Preview)
As you may have seen with the previous message, I had issues with my head unit after installing a Blitzsafe AUX adapter. After consulting with Blitzsafe, we concluded that a slightly loose connection in the hardwired Y-adapter plug caused the radio to short circuit, causing my issues with XM radio t...

Home audio speakers
(Preview)
I had to look them up also. The page that listed all the speakers showed them all to be 8ohm. That's more like home audio speakers. Most car speakers are 4ohm, are they not? Seems like the 8's would require much more power.

"lite" on the bass
(Preview)
I have just sent email to MTX. They are sold at Circuit City (Where I got the Polks). I am asking MTX for info. The clarity of the Polks are great BUT "lite" on the bass. I question now on Honda's RMS ratings. My system is suppose to be 180 watts. Given the factory speakers it was pushing that may b...

Bass control
(Preview)
Thanks Josh for info. Have found that by playing with the fader/volume control and bass control I can get some acceptable (barely) bass response. Will get with my technician tomorrow. One thing I should not have done was going with a 3 way rear speaker. Should have stayed with a 2 way. Thanks again.

NOT BEGIN WITH A SPEAKER UPGRADE!!!
(Preview)
The problem with stock stereos are not the speakers...it's the lack of power coming from your head unit. Speaker distortion is due to lack of power. Two suggestions:1. BUy a new head unit. Most head units are putting out about twice the power as most stock head units unless your stock is a premium sound...

system amp
(Preview)
The system amp was already in the only spot where the Basslink would fit and be out of the way. The Bazooka takes up space but since it's a tube mounting was a little more flexible. It can be removed in two minutes or less if I need the whole trunk open for whatever reason.

Initially I was very disappointed in it and a little bit pissed. After roughly 8-10 weeks it started to loosen up and be a real sub.......I was delighted! The difference was so dramatic I took it back to the shop that did the work for the manager to hear it as he was disappointed also. If you are looking for...

"deep" bass
(Preview)
No knocking of Inifinity assumed here. And it is true they are best on mid and high range...that's what I've always used them for anyway. I always found them to do a great job on reproducing good clear sound without ever becoming shrill.I always used a 12" for bass...My opinion: It's the threshol...

channel amp and self amplified

I chose a four channel amp and self amplified sub for my needs. The sub is easily and quickly removed when I need the space. The JL Audio Cleansweep is behind the dash. I also chose professional installation for everything, I'm not handy with that type work. See the silver knob below the emergency brake...

'great' stereo
(Preview)
If you're looking for overall nice sound, and retain your stock HU, the cleansweep (or RF 3sixty, etc.) would be your best option, and connect it to a 5ch amp (cheaper than a 4ch AND a sub amp, and wiring is simpler and cheaper too). Get some decent speakers (infinity kappa's are real nice, but even their...

That's why I suggested to start with upgrading speakers. You will notice an immediate improvement that may sustain you for a while. Enough power
(Preview)
500watts to any ohm doesnt make sense....and since its clipping that means there isn't enough power to drive the subs when a bass note hits...if you are wiring up 1 ohm stuff i hope you are using at the very least 4 gauge wire, i would recommend 2 though.

Pretty much any Sony, Kenwood, Alpine, etc will have better speakers than stock. The premium system just means a more powerful amplifier, that's it. The rear speakers are just remove and replace, no modification needed. The front may need some modification.
