Great offering from Honda
(Preview)
Comparing Accord sales now to 5 years ago to determine if the new model is a better car is ridiculous. A lot of factors involved but Ill point out a few: Competition: I wont say there wasnt competition back then, but the 2003 Camrys exterior was comparable to an American sedan (boring) and the Altimas in...

360k Accords in 2003
(Preview)
You can't really annualize a single month's numbers, especially November's numbers because the car business is traditionally slow during this time because of the weather and the holidays. That's why the sales numbers compare the same month. I'm pretty sure Honda sold more than 360k Accords in 200...

Facts are facts. Let's get 'em right.
(Preview)
There wasn't competition in 2002 and 2003? Are you kidding? All the same competing models today were there back in 2002/3. And back then, the domestics and just about everyone else but Honda was stuffing their cars with unprecedented rebates up the wazoo as a result of the 9/11 economy hit. Accords we...

"ten times better than the Gen7!!!",
(Preview)
Now, considering those who have declared the 2008 Accord to be "ten times better than the Gen7!!!", sales should have at least matched sales of the 2003 Accord which is held up on this site as being so design challenged as to be a total flop. Where's your "egg-removal-face-towel&quo...

Acura brand until very recently
(Preview)
Unlike Honda, Acura is suffering from some brand identity issues where some question whether or not it is in the same league as Lexus and Infiniti (re: no RWD V8 offerings). As far as the TL goes, it has pretty much held record sales for the Acura brand until very recently. Debuts of new and much improved...

"long in the tooth"
(Preview)
Overall Acura sales are down 30% or so from last year.It appears the current Acura crop of cars is "long in the tooth" and the new 2009's are long overdue. I almost bought an 2003 Acura TL when I bought my Accord, but here is what I found (February 2006):RSX: Way too small for meTSX: Too small fo...

Fuel pump pickup
(Preview)
The filter is a "sock" that covers the fuel pump pickup in the gas tank. It is not a serviceable item. The entire unit must be removed and a new sock put on. Honda has no replacement mileage for that filter, it is supposedly lifetime.

The fuel filter is not serviceable, it is in the fuel tank. There are no spark plug wires, it is coil on plug ignition. Folks don't just throw suggestions out there unless you are sure of them. You will just cause the guy to chase problems that don't exist. How many miles on the car? Auto or manual shift? Fi...

Thanks for the info, I bought this car a month ago from the Honda Dealership and they had certified it for me, I mean they put in a new set of tires, brakes front and back, I would think they would have checked all the filters and spark plugs on it. My two cents...
(Preview)
Guess I'll toss my two-cents into the mix! 2003-2005 - I had loved the look of this series for some time, which is precisely why I finally broke down and bought one. I prefer the rear tailights of the '03 and '04, however, over the all-red '05. 2006-2007 - The revised rear end absolutely killed this car fo...

Average of a few horsepower
(Preview)
It gained more than 6hp. The 03-05's and 06-07's are rated using different standards. The standards used in the 06-07's show a lower horsepower rating than the previous standards would. You gained somewhere north of 10hp, though I can't say exactly how much. I can't remember when I figured this out,...

I think the stereo region is the best looking part of this car. I have a nav system so mine might be different. VCM is primarily an electrical issue; that is to say there's not really anything more complex "mechanically". However, repairs "could" be expensive depending on what's needing to be replaced (solenoid could be hard to get to, etc.).But with Camry's retarded placement of t...

Belt change at 105k miles
(Preview)
Here's a more broad explanation of my argument. 2002's do have transmission issues. Period. They just do, and it sounds like all she's considering is an automatic. 2003 V6's had some trans problems too, but most were corrected early on by a oil jet kit recall. 4Cyl's are unaffected to my knowledge. 20...

I was told that when the first car I bought (at 18) was a Volvo turbo. Since then I've owned a few 4-door sedans that have that older age attribute attached to them, but never cared as I liked them (few Volvos, Bonneville SSE, etc.)

Depending on the cost.. I'd say give it a try.. The wheel bases should be the same.. so I don't see how the mufflers hang being a problem.. which would be a concern to me.
