Your post and sig don't say which engine you have, but I'm sure mpg will improve.My V6 now has about 7500 miles. The first few tanks climbed from 23.X to 24.X to 25.X and so on. Now, I usually get 27-28 mpg driving about 90% highway, 10% city.

i think that the damage to the underlying stuff is more serious than what you are stating here..... if you don't fix the bent metla that may be underneath there, and you get into another accident with that car, that area will already be weakened, and will not be able to withstand as much damage as the rest...

Changing your battery won't help. Your battery is still 12.5v while the alternator puts out up to 14 volts. Dimming is normal.
