I'd like to post my personal Warranty Direct experience....

It was the winter of 2000 and I took my 1993 Mazda RX-7 in to get worked on. The dealership determined the apex seals on the motor were bad and it (the engine) needed to be replaced. Warranty direct approved the replacement and the shop started the process of pulling the motor and ordering a new one. I was very excited as my $1000 warranty was about to score me a $6000 engine. A few weeks passed until they finally got everything done and then they called with the terrible news.....Warranty Direct had decided to no longer pay for the claim. icon_thumbsdown.gif After the shop had put the new motor in and called for the credit card number, Warranty Direct claimed that they could not verify the old motor was bad...since it was already out of the car and shipped back to Mazda, so therefore they would not cover the claim. There I was stuck with a $6K repair bill that they, by contract, should have paid for and even agreed to pay for prior to the repair. I spent the next few months trying to sue them, but really couldn't find a lawyer interested in a case that didn't involve injury and could only really stand to gain $6K total.

I will NEVER give Warranty Direct a dime and I'd advise you to do the same. One other note about HondaCare--if you're claim is less than $500, the dealer doesn't even have to call for approval. They just fix it and bill Hondacare....pretty nice.

Good luck,
